Pete is reunited with his parents Margarita Luna & Jesus Samora, his Tia Rita Luna, his brother Jose Samora, his Tia Dolrores Lola Luna, Tio Johnny and Tia Ruth Cuca Luna, his cousins Gloria Banda Munoz, Vincent and Mary Munoz, Florentino "Tino"Munoz, Ronnie "the Rock" Munoz, Felix Ramirez and Eddie Flores. Pete was born in Wichita, Kansas on March 24, 1929 and was a lifelong resident of Merced. Pete was a beautiful soul. He was always happy and had a smile for everyone he met. Although Pete had no children, he regarded his many nieces and nephews as his own. "Panson" as he was affectionately referred to by the family saw life through a different lens. It was one of simplicity beauty and wonder. It is one, which we should all try to achieve. Pete lived at peace. Pete loved to attend family gatherings. He was always up for a good poker game although participants always had to keep an eye on Pete as he was known for getting a hand in without putting in the kitty and playing checkers and trips to Reno. Pete loved fishing, camping and watching TV with family. Pete had a big heart, he was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed one. Back in the day you could find Pete at Uncle Rene's Beacon hanging out and bringing a smile and joy to everyone who walked in. His smile was infectious. He formed many friendships as people were drawn to his joyous spirit. Pete enjoyed a special bond with his cousin Mary Munoz in life, he will invariably carry on in heaven. Pete's departure leaves a void in the Munoz family that cannot be filled. Although our hearts are heavy, comfort is taken in the assurance he rests in peace. The family would like to especially acknowledge Cousin Vince Munoz's exceptional care of Pete in his final days. The Family would also like to give a  heartfelt thank you to Dr. Jaipal Reddy and his staff and to Hinds Hospice for their love and care for Pete. Recitation of the Rosary will be Friday, March 27, 2015 at 9:30a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Merced, CA. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated immediatly following. Burial will proceed at Calvary Cemetery in Merced, CA. Arrangements Entrusted to Wilson Family Funeral Chapel of Merced.
