Scoggins, James - Merced  
James Scoggins passed away with his loved ones by his side. He was a family man and very kind hearted. He is survived by his mother Jimmie Scoggins, his sister and brother's Londa, Dwight, Clinton and David Scoggins, He also leaves behind his three children, James Jr., Opal and William Scoggins, daughter-in-law, Samantha Scoggins also two grandchildren Conner and Karsyn Scoggins, many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceeded in death by father, Lee Scoggins and brother Delbert Scoggins. They say memories are golden, I suppose that could be true. Right now we don't want memories, all we want is you. In life we loved you dearly, in death we love you still. In our hearts you hold a place that no one else will fill. Visitation will be held at Ivers and Alcorn Funeral Home in Merced at 10:00 a.m. on Friday February 27, 2015. Shaeffer, Stanley - Colusa  
Stanley (Stan) A. Shaeffer 59 years Stanley (Stan) A. Shaeffer beloved husband, father and son passed away on February 18, 2015.  He was born on March 9, 1955 in Dos Palos, California to Edward and Faye Shaeffer. After graduation from high school in Los Banos, Stan joined the Navy where he was trained as an electrician. After his service in the Navy he worked at various companies until finally working in the tomato packing businesses. He worked for Ingomar and then Morning Star Packing Company for 20 years. He and his family moved to Colusa in 1995 when the Morning Star plant was built in Williams. In 2004 he opened his own electrical business, Stan's Electric, in Colusa, California where he enjoyed meeting and serving his clients. Stan loved solving problems and many of his clients became friends. When not at work, Stan loved taking care of and improving the family home, washing the cars, and playing with his dogs. He rebuilt a1971 Mach 1 Mustang and restored it. Stan was also an excellent woodworker and built many of the pieces of furniture.  He liked to be active and working and was well known for his work ethic. He is survived by his wife Karla, his daughter Krystal Santiago, her husband Chris, grandson Marcus (one more grandson is on the way in May), both of his parents Ed and Faye Shaeffer, his sister Laura Posey and niece Amanda Coleman. He was dearly loved by his family and will be remembered for his strength, honesty, and hard work. Stan asked that there be no service. Internment will be held privately inDos Palos after cremation. Sorg, Geraldine M. - Dos Palos  
Geraldine "Gerry" Marie Sorg died in her home town of Dos Palos, California on February 23, 2015 due to natural causes. She was 82. Geraldine was born on December 10, 1932 in Oklahoma City, OK to her parents, Eddie and Clara Molloy. She married Gordon Sorg in 1963 and settled in Dos Palos together until his death in 1996. Geraldine was active in the Seventh-day Adventist Church where she was very involved with her church family and participated in the choir. She loved her church family. She was also involved in the Women's Club and Senior Citizens Club. Geraldine blessed her family and friends with a colorful outlook on life. Those who knew her were blessed with her presence. She is survived by her four children, Doug Machado Jr. and his wife Beatrice of Clovis; Darlene Bonds of Dos Palos; Donna Brown of Madera; Sandy Landrum and her husband Danny Landrum of Coalinga; her sister Geneva Philphot of Visalia; sister Julia Risley of San Diego; Oren Molloy of Clovis; and Sarah Turner of Rapid City, South Carolina. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Lisa (Laird) Beherns and husband Jason of Illinois; Gordon Bonds and wife Kristin of Dos Palos; Trishan (Carollo) Amaral and husband Aaron of Clovis; Charlie Brown of Fresno; Clarence Brown of Madera; and Dorothy Brown of Oakhurst. She was also blessed with 14 great grandchildren. Services will be held on March 3rd, 2015 at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel of Dos Palos, California. Viewing will start at 9:30 with the services beginning at 11:00. All are welcome to attend and celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Seventh-day Adventist Church, 404 Overland Rd, Los Banos, CA 93635-9708. Services are entrusted to Whitehurst Funeral Chapel-Dos Palos.
