Freitas, Clementina A. - Modesto  
Clementina A. Freitas July 3, 1928 - August 22, 2016 Clementina Freitas was born on July 3, 1928 to Frank and Paulina Lopes in El Nido, California. She attended schools in Dos Palos and El Nido Elementary and then went to work on her parent's dairy and farm after graduation. Clementina met the love of her life, William Francis Freitas Sr., in 1948 at a mutual friends' wedding, they married in 1949 in El Nido, California. She went to live and work with her husband expanding his dairy and farm in Atwater for 38 years. They retired and sold the farm and dairy in 1988. They then went to Merced to live out their retirement years enjoying family and friends. They enjoyed 66 wonderful years happily married until Clementina's passing on August 22, 2016. Clementina was a stay at home wife and mother, she was always transporting and assisting her children to their sporting or club events. She was a terrific baker and cook, she enjoyed being Room Mother for many years. Her specialty was making Portuguese sweet bread and filhos for her family. Over the last several years she enjoyed assisting and watching her tradition being passed down to her "girls". She was also an avid gardener and seamstress, she loved how it relaxed her. Her love for crocheting was evident with her afghans, she would crochet a new one for every grandchild welcomed into the family. She would also crotchet dolls for her girls until her fingers could no longer do the job. Clementina and Bill would often take family trips to Santa Cruz annually, until later on they started taking the trips alone. They loved the coast and enjoyed their many trips to various sea side venues. They also enjoyed traveling to Massachusetts to visit with Clementina's family. They also traveled to Europe and the Azores, their bus trips to the casino with family and friends were also a highlight in her life. As a very spiritual woman, her faith was part of her everyday life. She attended St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Atwater and later St. Patrick's in Merced. The family would like to give a special thanks to the ICU Unit staff at Mercy Medical Center Merced for attentive care provided. Clementina is preceded in death by her parents, Francisco and Paulina Lopes; grandson, Jeremy Gouveia; sister, Paulina Tripp and the Freitas family in-laws. She is survived by her Husband, Bill Freitas; daughters, Barbara (Tony) Gouveia of Atwater, Debbie Pedretti of Merced and Charlene (Bill) Mitchell of Merced; son, Bill Freitas Jr. of Merced; brother, Frank Lopes of Atwater; grandsons, Anthony (Victoria) Gouveia of Atwater, Gregory (Emily) Gouveia of Turlock, Gino (Michelle) Pedretti of El Nido, Garrett Pedretti of Chowchilla and Billy Mitchell of Merced; granddaughters, Cassie (Kevin) Lopina of Shingle Springs, Amanda (Ross) Kanawyer of Oakhurst and Whitley (Nick) Showalter of Turlock; great-grandchildren, Jeremy and Grace Gouveia, Hudson Gouveia, Kellan Lopina, Mikayla Pedretti, Nolan Pedretti and Wrett Showalter; sister-in-law, Marie Freitas of Gustine as well as an abundance of nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Friday, August 26, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., a vigil service with rosary will start at 7:00 p.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home located at 1490 B Street Merced. A Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Our Lady of Mercy Church located at 459 W 21st Street in Merced. www.cvobituaries.com

Holladay, Eugene Martin "Doc"  
Eugene Martin (Doc) Holladay 12-17-1954 - 7-22-2016 Born to Earl Holladay and Lucilla Martin Holladay. Dec. 17, 1954 in Ogden, Utah. He's been a resident of Chowchilla the last 4 years, and off and on here Arkansas, and Utah. He was a truck driver for many years. He loved swapping stories and playing horse shoes. He is survived by one younger brother Robert (Doc) Holladay (CA), a twin sister, Gaylene (CA), 5 older sisters, Nancy (AZ), Elaine (CA), Alice (AZ), Linda (CA), Kathleen (N.C.), all their families. Lane, Gertrude - Los Banos  
GERTRUDE MAE LANE FEB. 26, 1920 - AUG. 22, 2016 Gertrude Mae Lane passed away August 22, 2016 from heart failure at Los Banos Nursing Home, Los Banos, CA.  Mrs. Lane was born February 26, 1920 in Furneiss, Alabama outside of Athens.  She married Frank Lane in 1936 in Clovis, New Mexico, where Patsy was born.  They moved to Los Banos in 1937 where three more daughters were born.  Her husband Frank died in 1981. Since then she made new friends at Bingo, enjoying her church family and playing Skip-Bo.  She will be dearly missed by all her friends and family. She is preceded in death by her husband Frank Lane. Mrs. Lane is survived by her four daughters, Pasty Farmer, Delores Jacobsen, Phyllis Garrett, Frankie Cremeen; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place Monday, August 29th from 10:00–11:00 a.m. at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel.  A service will follow from 11:00–12:00 p.m. Burial will follow service at Los Banos District Cemetery. Moore, Timothy - Hastings  
Timothy "TJ" Moore April 3, 1996 - August 12, 2016 Timothy John (TJ) Moore was born on April 3, 1996 in Merced, California.  He received his ultimate healing from cancer on August 12, 2016 when Jesus called him home. TJ grew up in Merced where he attended school and graduated from Golden Valley High School in 2014.  During high school TJ was a member of the Golden Valley football team where he received numerous awards including being named Lineman of the year 2 years in a row.  He was also named Offensive Player of the Year. He received All Conference honors both for football and for his academic performance.  TJ was offered multiple scholarships to play football but ultimately chose William Jewel in Liberty, Missouri.  He then moved to Hastings to be closer to his siblings where he attended Central Community College.  He was employed at Murphy's Wagon Wheel where he loved all of his coworkers. He was especially close his employers Bob, Jamison and Brittany Murphy. TJ was known for his very loving, kind and affectionate ways. He loved his siblings deeply and was very protective of his family.  On June 14th, 2016 TJ was blessed by the birth of his first nephew, Owen, who was TJ's pride and joy. Even in his sickness TJ would light up when Owen was in his arms and they quickly became napping buddies. TJ leaves behind his mom Kiley Carrillo and his dad(best buddy) Joe Carrillo of Grand Island, Nebraska.  His father, Timothy and stepmother, Jacquie Moore, of Atwater, California; his sisters Bethany and husband Guy Skodmin, Erika Carrillo, and Bella Carrillo of Grand Island, Nebraska;  brothers Gary Womack of Hastings, NE, Michael Speights of Fresno, CA and Nathaniel Moore of Atwater, CA.  Also surviving are his grandmothers Barbara Crumley of Red Cloud, NE, Billie Moore of Atwater, CA, and Dolores Salinas of Merced, CA; aunts, Kelly and husband Don Witte of Scribner, NE and Patricia Leon-Guerrero of Merced, CA; uncles, Bobby and wife Kristi Salinas, Hector and wife, Stacy Salinas, Oscar Salinas, Michael and wife Gloria Moore, all of Merced, CA; Duwayne and wife Laura Moore of Bremerton, WA; a nephew Owen Skodmin of Grand Island, NE; his girlfriend Kalyn Sears of Crete, NE; numerous other relatives and friends; his work family at Murphy's; his medical team from 5 West at UNMC, including his favorite nurse Jade Gearhart, and his Mary Lanning Hospice team. TJ was preceeded in death by his grandfathers John Crumley and Gary Moore along with a cousin Sean Leon-Guerrero and close family friend Debb "Hollywood" Elrod.Memorial services will be held Saturday, 10:00 a.m., August 27, 2016 at the Livingston-Butler-Volland Chapel in Hastings with Fredd Burton officiating.  Book signing will be at the Williams Funeral Home in Red Cloud Wednesday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. A memorial fund has been established by the family.
