Sanchez, Raul - Bakersfield  
Monsignor Raul S. Sanchez October 4, 1962 ~ June 18, 2016 Monsignor Raul S. Sanchez, pastor of St. Philip the Apostle Church in Bakersfield, CA, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2016, surrounded by the presence and prayers of his family. He was 53.   Monsignor Sanchez immigrated to the United States from Guadalajara, Mexico when he was eight, and settled in the Merced, CA area. At 20, he began his seminary formation to become a priest in the Diocese of Fresno. He was ordained on June 5, 1993, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic church in Fresno by the Most Rev. Bishop John T. Steinbock and received the title of Monsignor in 2008.    He served in the following parishes, St. Anne's, Porterville, CA; St. Joseph's, Selma, CA; St. Jude's, Earlimart, CA; Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and St. Alphonsus, Fresno; Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Clovis; St. John's Cathedral, Fresno; St. Frances Cabrini, Huron, CA; and St. Philip the Apostle, Bakersfield, CA. He is preceded in death by his brother, Carlos Sanchez. He is survived by his mother and father, Maria de Jesus and Jose Guadalupe Sanchez; siblings, Adolfo, Marcelino, Maria de Jesus, Arturo, Ana Rosa and Carolina; and a host of nephews and nieces, and great-nephews and great-nieces. Visitation will be held at St. Philip the Apostle Church, 7100 Stockdale Highway, Bakersfield, on Thursday, June 23, 2016, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by a Vigil Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Fresno on Friday, June 24, 2016, at 12:00 noon. Interment will be at St. Peter's Cemetery. Simmons, Sherry - Merced  
Sherry Jane Simmons March 11, 1955 - June 13, 2016 Sherry Jane Simmons, age 61, a resident of Merced passed away Monday, June 13, 2016. She was born March 11, 1955 in Aberdeen, MD to the late Willie James Hudson and Lois Fryar Hudson. Sherry had a fruitful and varied life. Sherry was a beautiful lady who loved her family more than anything. She will truly be missed. Her love will light our way and her memory will forever live in our hearts. She is survived by her husband, Richard Simmons; her children: Ryan Albright and husband, Michael, Ashley Simmons, Alexis Simmons; and three cherished grandsons William, Tyler and Riley. Testa, Jeronima - Merced  
Jeronima "Jerry" Testa, 94, of Merced, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at home on June 16th 2016. A Rosary will be held at 9:30am Wednesday, June 22nd 2016 at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 459 W 21st in Merced followed by Mass at 10am. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Merced. Jerry was born to Jeronimo and Olaya Lopez and was happily married to her best friend and loving husband Adolph Testa for 69 years. Jerry enjoyed all of the many friendships made throughout the years of working for Central California Tomato Growers, Cal-Can, and Hadley's. Family meant everything to Jerry. She always got excited and looked forward to the many visits and holiday gatherings. Making ravioli's and tamales with the grandkids was always a big thing that Jerry and family looked forward to. Jerry kept a beautiful home and everyone could tell that she loved her gardening. Perfectly trimmed hedges, lawns, and beautiful flowers were always at their best. She found hummingbirds to be amazing.   Jerry is preceded in death by her beloved husband Adolph Testa, brothers Joe Lopez and Refugio Lopez and survived by daughter Becky Williamson (Bob) of Merced, and granddaughter Amy Widick, great granddaughters Lindsey, and Hailey of Kentucky, Alysan of Merced, grandson Bobby Williamson and great grandson Grant of Chowchilla. Wilson, Ralph - Los Banos  
Ralph M. Wilson March 28, 1932-June 20, 2016 Ralph M. Wilson, age 84, passed away in his sleep on Monday, June 20, in his Los Banos, CA home. Ralph was born March 28, 1932 to Ralph and Dora Wilson in Fresno, CA. He later moved to Los Banos, where he graduated from Los Banos High School in 1950. Ralph spent four years in the US Navy before his employment with R. Gardner Plumbing, where he remained during his working years. Ralph leaves behind his wife Ann and a marriage of 63 years. He  is survived by four children and their spouses: daughter MaryJane and Dave Goewey, Eugene, OR; son Monty and Donna Wilson, Los Banos, CA; daughter Julie and Steve Herdell, St. Helena, CA; daughter Janie and Bob Sutton, Herald, CA. Other remainning family members include seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren .  Ralph loved carpentry. The homes of his four children are furnished with many pieces he lovingly made and they are greatly treasured. More than carpentry, however, Ralph loved his wife and family. A quiet man by nature, Ralph reveled in the fun and activity of family events. Being a husband and father was his greatest calling and it's a role he filled well. His loving and quiet presence will be missed.  A special thank you to Hinds Hospice for their loving care. And, much gratitude to the caregivers and friends who've supported and helped Ann and the Wilson family throughout Ralph's illness. The entire family wishes to send their hearfelt gratitude . A private graveside service will be held at a later date at the National Cemetary in Santa Nella, CA.
