I had the privilege of working with Diane Romero through fieldwork observation. I spent two semesters with her, and learned a great deal of what it means to be not only a great teacher, but a great person.
It is with much sorrow that I hear of this news. I pray blessings over her family. May God keep watch over your hearts from this hurt.

We met Diane at my sister's house, and noted that Diane had the most brillant smile that shined through her eyes and the warmth of her personality came through the moment you met her. Sometimes I wonder what God's big plan is when wonderful, kind people are taken from this Earth so young. Our deepest sympathies for the Romero's and Reid's.

I did not know Diane, but my daughter remembers her from Peterson and is in the same class with Joseph. Our family's deepest sympathies go to your family and prayers to her sons who will have a great deal of healing to do. God Bless you all.

My prayers are with the Romero family...especially her two sweet boys. I worked with her on and off for several years, and I was so excited to finally be in the same grade level with her. She was very helpful. I know how much she adored her 2 boys, and my heart breaks for them. God bless you! I am so very sorry.

Dear Diane, Who knew that the last time we talked would be the last time... the last time to see your beautiful face, your wise eyes, your big smile, your hands reaching out to welcome us? Who knew? Who knew that that one fateful day was your first day in Heaven... the first time to see God's beautiful face, His wise eyes, His big smile, His hands reaching out to welcome you? Who knew?

Your beautiful smile is the thing I remembered most about you. You are a smiling angel who will be watching over your family while you sit by Jesus' side. May your family and friends find comfort in their hearts knowing that they will see you again in the streets of Gold. God Bless and many prayers to your entire family. Keep smiling that beautiful smile from Heaven Diane and watch over your 2 angel boys and continue to light the way for them. They will need your guiding light and love as they go through this tragic ordeal. Peace be with the family. My heart is sad for them. God Bless.

Your time on earth was all too brief because I wanted you in my life forever. And although I really miss you, in my heart I know that you are safe in God's warm embrace. Still, countless times throughout the day I find myself remembering you. Although I cannot see or hear you, I know that you are with me. I'll feel you in the warmth of the sun glistening over a sandy beach. I'll see you in the brilliance of autumn leaves. You'll be beside me in the peacefulness of a gentle snowfall, and rejoice with me at the emergence of the first flowers of spring. I'm thankful for the times we shared and the priceless memories too; for those memories are a comfort now when I lovingly remember you.

Diane, We don't realize the hearts that have been touched until it is too late. As a daughter, wife, mom, teacher, friend...you have influenced many. The thought of you not being around is so disturbing to me and my family, I can't imagine what your family is living. Know that the community is surrounding them with love and prayers and know that one day you will hold them in your arms again. Dianne, we miss you.

My heart and prayers go out to the family for this tragic lose. Mrs. Romero made a wonderful impression on my son Alex Hobson as his 5th grade teacher. Alex currently is a senior at Merced High School and would visit Mrs. Romero from time to time at back to school night at Alan Peterson Elementary. They always had great conversations. Thank you, Diane for making such a positive impact on my son's education.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Mrs. Romero was one of the few teachers I do remember in elementary. She was my 4th grade teacher, and one thing I remember till this day, about her class, was that I was very playful.
