DONALD DINKINS Obituary
Donald Dupree Dinkins was born on June 24, 1969 in Merced, California to the union of Thurmond and Charlotte Dinkins. He was the sixth of six children. Donald was preceded in death by his father, mother, sister Sherry Spruell, and brother Michael Spruell.Donald lived in Merced, California for more than 41 years, most people knew him a Donnie. Donnie attended school at Ada Givens Elementary, Tenaya Jr. High, Merced High School, and Merced College. Donnie accepted Christ at an early age. He united with Friendship Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. T.R. Simpson. He worked for McLane Pacific. He enjoyed making people laugh, and playing with his nieces and nephew which lead him to become a foster parent. Donnie enjoyed watching his favorite football team; the Dallas Cowboys, while hanging with his brother and his boyz. Donnie had a smile that would light up a room that always worked well with the ladies. He also enjoyed the outdoor life, and listening to good music.
Donnie departed this life on November 27, 2010 in Kentfield, California. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving family, his son Michael Dupree Dinkins of Merced, CA, one sister Vienna Fisher of Bakersfield, CA, two brothers, Vincent Spruell of Soledad, CA and Thurmond Dinkins III of Merced, CA; four aunts, Bennie Roth Poole of Los Angeles, CA, Marie Hall of Merced, CADiana Pierce of Atwater, CA , and Joann Lee of Goose Creek, SC; three uncles, Roscoe Pierce of Merced, CA, Clyde D. Hall of Richmond, CA and Murphy Poole of Los Angeles, CA; one sister-in-law, Nicolasa Dinkins of Merced, CA; one brother-in-law, James F. Fisher of Bakersfield, CA; sic nieces, five nephews, and a host of friends and loved ones.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Merced District Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home.

Donnie always had a way of brightening up the room with his beautiful smile! Thurmond and Nicole have been dear friends to me for over 20 years...Thurmand has always been like a big brother to me. You and your family have always made me feel like part of your family. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I know Donnie is smiling down on all of us. He's the angel with the biggest, brightest, smile!!!

I will always remember his smile. He had such a baby face! I was just asking someone the other day if they had seen him around lately as I had not seen him in over a decade it seems but I wasn't expecting this.
