DORIS RUSSELL Obituary



Doris Jewell Russell, age 93, a native of Delphos, KS, former resident of Silver City, NM and a resident of Merced, CA for 9 years passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at an Atwater hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, William B. Russell Jr. a prominent Silver City, NM businessman. She was one of five children of Wellington Webster Wiseman, D.V.M and Henrietta T. Wiseman.

She was a retired librarian with the Silver City Junior High School. She was a graduate of New Mexico State Teachers College and received her librarian credential from Arizona State University. Doris was an avid reader and a person who loved various crafts including knitting and ceramics.

She is survived by one son, William B. Russell III of Winton, CA. Grandmother to Christopher Ray Russell of Merced, CA and great-grandmother to Paige & Katelyn Russell both of Chiloquin OR and Bailey Russell of Merced, CA.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Hampshire Retirement Center, 3460 "R" Street in Merced.

Jay Chapel, Madera, CA in charge of arrangements. Inurnment will be at Memory Lane Cemetery in Silver City, NM Saturday, December 4, 2010 at 2:00 P.M.

Billy, I was so sorry to learn of your mother's passing. My heart goes out to you at this difficult time. I would have come to the memorial service in Merced if I had known that we're practically neighbors. Take care.
