GERALD E. MIDDLEKAUFF

1920 - 2010

Gerald Eugene Middlekauff was born in Keswick, Iowa to Anna and Charles Middlekauff. Gerald was one of four brothers and two sisters. He came to California in 1942 to serve at Castle AFB as an airplane mechanic. He met and married Ildhrea Barnard in 1947.

Gerald worked for John Roth Chevrolet as a mechanic and tow-truck driver for 10 years before opening his own small TV/Radio repair shop in his garage. Then in 1964 he expanded to a larger store becoming Jerry's Radio & TV that he ran with his wife for 34 years.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ildhrea, and daughter Lou Ann. He was "Papa" to his beloved grandchildren Rebecca, Cohen (Alex), Daniel Fierro, Lisa Heldstab (Jake) and great grandfather to Caleb, Sophia and Joseph Cohen, and Abagail Heldstab. He leaves his sister and brother-in-law Vi & Phil McDaniels, Sister Velda Holthus and brother, Harlan Middlekauff both of Iowa.

Papa was always fixing or fiddling on a project. He was also a very talented wood worker. As the neighbors will attest, he was very proud of his Iris gardens.

As per Dad, "Papa's" request, the burial will be private. Arrangements entrusted to Wilson Family Funeral Chapel of Merced.
