GLADYS ZENGER Obituary
Gladys Zenger passed away peacefully Monday, October 18, 2010 at a hospital in Chowchilla with her children at her side. She was 91. She was born March 11, 1919 in Stonewall, Oklahoma to Charlie and Clara (Brady) Batey.
Gladys married Paul Zenger and relocated to Dos Palos, California in 1936. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Valley Christian Center, formerly First Assembly of God in Dos Palos. Gladys enjoyed quilting and crocheting and spent quality time caring for her son with special needs. In 1996, she relocated to Chowchilla and united with Chowchilla Family Worship Center. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Paul in 2001.
She is survived by three children; GW Zenger of Fresno, CA, Pauline Downum and Janice Buttrey both of Chowchilla, CA. Two brothers; Wes Batey of Dos Palos, CA and Harold Batey of Merced, CA. Three sisters; Mildred Gilliam, Syble Darnell and Marie Von Allman all of Dos Palos, CA. She also leaves six grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel on Friday beginning at 9AM. Funeral services will follow at 10am. Reverend Chad Buttrey will officiate. Gladys will be laid to rest in the Dos Palos District Cemetery.
