Gregorio S. Soto Jr.

Gregorio S. Soto Jr. (Chato) 96, passed away on March 20, 2014, surrounded by his family. Chato was a resident of Planada for 88 years, a farmer for much of his life. He was married to Ida Soto for 67 years. She preceded him in 2013. He is survived by his son Greg Soto and wife Irene of Planada and three granddaughters Melissa (Albert) Avila, Christina (Mark) Zamora and Amanda Soto, and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived through his sister Fidelia Hernandez of Merced. Viewing will be held at Stratford Evans funeral home on March 26th 2014 from 5-6 pm with rosary to follow at 6pm. Family and Friends will gather at a graveside service on Thursday, March 27th, 2014 at 10 am at Plainsburg cemetery. Reception to follow at Stratford Evans Hall; 12 pm 1490 B. Street, Merced.
