HESTER GRAVES Obituary
She worked as a cook for a skilled nursing hospital for 15 years, retiring in 1983.
Hester enjoyed visitng family in Texas, Kansas and Oklahoma. She was known for making delicious homemade bread. Hester relocated to Los Banos in 2006 to escape the fast paced city atmosphere and to be near her granddaughter. She enjoyed attending church and church activities, but her favorite times where spent with grandchildren and great grandchildren when they visited.
Hester made a peaceful transition into eternal life Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010 at her home in Los Banos. She was 92.
She was preceded in death by her parents, eight siblings and a granddaughter, Marion Joy Eddings in Jan. 2010.
She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted daughter, Billie Eddings of Los Banos, CA; two granddaughters Melody Eddings-Washington and her husband Frank of Los Banos, CA and Sheri Eddings of Hawthorne, CA; four great grandchildren, Chenelle Washington and her husband Harvest of Redondo Beach, CA, Ceara Eddings, Cayla Eddings and Isaish Eddings all of Hawthorne, CA; one great great grandchild, Trinitee Henderson-Eddings of Hawthorne, CA.
She also leaves a host of many nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and two special nieces, Maxine Young of Wichita, KS and Mary Mobley of Marietta, GA.
Funeral service will be held Friday, Sept. 24, 2010 at 11am at Whitehurst Funeral Chapel in Los Banos. A committal service will be held Monday, Sept. 27, 2010 at 11am in Inglewood Park Cemetery at Garden of the Creation Mausoleum.
Remembrances may be made to Bristol Hospice, 1170 W. Olive, Suite B, Merced, CA 95340.
