IRMA WELCH Obituary

May 2, 1918 ~ October 6, 2010

Irma Welch passed away on October 6th, 2010 following a brief illness.

Irma was born to Charles and Lila Young on May 2, 1918 in Los Banos, CA. Irma attended Los Banos schools and graduated from Los Banos High School. Irma also attended Fresno City College.

Irma worked for many years as an aide at Los Banos Elementary school and with the head start program. She was also the first female real estate agent in Los Banos, working for Freeman realty. Irma loved traveling and spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Harper "Bud" Welch and sons Keith and Kevin Welch.

She is survived by her sister, Hazel Wood of Pagosa Springs, Colorado, and brothers Charles Young of Cottonwood, CA, and Richard Young of Los Banos.

Irma is also survived by her daughter Colleen Amabile, son-in-law Stephen Amabile, daughter-in-law Linda Welch, granddaughter Katie Welch Kilgore and her husband Randall Kilgore, granddaughter Kirsten Amabile Lee and her husband Michael Lee, grandson Daniel Amabile and wife Tere Sigala Amabile, granddaughter Tara Amabile Whitehurst and husband Aron Whitehurst, and granddaughter Erin Amabile.

Irma's survivors also include great grandchildren Anton Folland, Lily Kilgore, Morgan Lee, Spencer Lee, Lila Amabile, as well as many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Tuesday, October 12th at 10:00 a.m. at Whitehurst Chapel, followed by a reception at Espana's Restaurant, 1460 East Pacheco Blvd., Los Banos.
