JAMES WOLARIDGE Obituary

January 2, 1942 - November 21, 2010

James H. Wolaridge, Jr. a long time Merced resident for over 50 years passed away at home surrounded by his family on November 21, 2010 at the age of 68. James, Jr. was born in McAlester, Oklahoma to James, Sr. and Almalene Pipes Wolaridge on January 2nd, 1942.James was a great husband, father, and grandfather. Known and beloved as "JW" he loved to spend time with his family, serving in his church, and listening to his jazz music. James was a faithful member of the Worldwide Church of God and Christian Life Center. JW worked in many occupations and trades over the years but is fondly remembered for wearing his baseball hats and caps and his passion to help others. If one word captures JW it is his willinginess to serve. At any event one would find James being on usher duty, security teams, parking or clean up detail. Assisting others in any and all capacities is his claim to fame. James had a passion for serving kids in the community. During the late 70's and early 80's you would find JW coaching city league and church basketball teams. To those boys he coached he was a father figure for some and role model to all.

James is survived by his mother Almalene Wolaridge, wife Jeanette Wolaridge for over 44 years, his son Keith Wolaridge (Bakersfield, CA) his wife Joanne and their four daughers: Christianna, Caylyn, Cheyenne, and Courtney. His daughter Karna Fedor (Mass) and her husband Chris their children: David, Noelle, and Michael. Son Kelvey Wolaridge (Fresno, CA) his wife Karen and their children: Kevin, Kaydin, step-daughters Alissa and Hayley Diaz. James is preceded in death by his father James H. Wolaridge, Sr. He is also survived by a host of aunts, cousins, uncles, and friends.

Friends and family are invited to attend funeral services held on November 29, 2010, 11:00 am at Christian Life Center located at 650 E. Olive Ave, Merced CA. A graveside ceremony is scheduled followed by food and fellowship back at the church.

Mrs. Wolaridge, Keith, Kelvy & Family,
I'm so sorry about you loss. Mr. Wolaridge always had a huge smile on his face and always willing to help others in need.
Everytime I ran into him I would always ask about Keith & Kelvy (because I knew them best) and watch his face like up as he would talk so highly of his wonderful kids.
I was honored to have known Mr. Wolaridge for many years and will continue to have fond memories of this amazing man.
My sincere condolences go out to the entire Wolaridge family.

Love, John DeAnda (Merced,CA.)

Jeanette and kids my heart goes out to you all. I will never forget the day I walked into your warm home over 30 years ago. You and James became my family that very day, The warmth that you two gave off together was one of love for the family unit.
With this unit you two built together others are now and will be as blessed as I was when they meet you and kids. They now have grown up to be like you two are spreading your warmth amongst so many whom they meet.
Jeanette, James work is done here on earth. You, my friend rest.
I will always keep you both close to my heart.
Sincerely and with much love, Demitria
