I have wondered how Mr. Crawford was doing. He used to come by my house and visit with me. I always thought it was neat that he was going to visit his older sisters, when he was already in his 90's. The last time he came he had walked so far and it was hot outside, but he insisted on walking home. Mr. Crawford was my 7th grade teacher at Winton. He was unique, allowing us to do some things that other teachers didn't allow in those days. When I went into teaching, I remembered how important it was to let children learn to be creative at times. I am sorry to hear of his passing, but what an amazing personality he was.

My deepest sympathies to the family. I had Mr. Crawford when I attended El Nido Elementary. He is one teacher I had that I remember quite well. I did run into him years down the road as an adult with children of my own and, he remembered me and my name. Looking back I know that he really did want his students to learn. I hope that you all take comfort in your memories.

I would like to express my condolences to the family of Mr. Crawford. Mr. Crawford was my sixth grade teacher at Galen Clark school in 1956. I later spoke with Mr. Crawford when he played in an orchestra with my younger brother in early 2000's. I was amazed when my brother told me a few years ago that Mr. Crawford had been hiking in Yosemite National Park. I fondly remember having Mr. Crawford as my first male school teacher in grammer school.
You have my deepest symphathy,
Mack Arias, Jr.
