LEONEL GARCIA Obituary

June 10, 1936 - November 8, 2010

Our Precious Leno went to walk with the Lord on Monday, November 8, 2010 peacefully with his family by his side. He was born June 10, 1936 in Juarez, Mexico. On September 8, 1956, he was united in marriage to Rose M. Garcia in Le Grand, California.

Leno was an active Planada Community member, a Teen Club Bus Driver/Chaperone and a Boy Scout Den Father. Also a farm laborer bus driver and enjoyed fishing. Leno's occupation was a welder for over 25 years at Kirby Manufacturing. Leno was an excellent artist, handyman, just a man of all trades. He took pride in his home and his garden paradise. Leno enjoyed playing music through his "Doctor Feel Good." Music was always apart of his family, they loved hearing him play his congas.

Our Loving, caring, Father and Grandpa Precious, Brother, Uncle and Friend will always be in our hearts and never forgotten.

Leno was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Rose M. Garcia; his mother, Maria Luisa Miramontes; his father, Jose Miramontes; brothers, Mike and Joe Miramontes and a sister, Marty Miramontes Salas.

He is survived by two sons, Johnny L. Garcia of Modesto and Edward T. Garcia of Hemet; five daughters, Patricia Duran, Vanessa Uribe both of Chula Vista; Reyna Garcia, Peggy Cruz, and Cymantha Garcia all of Planada; sisters, Angie Banda and Carmen Amayla and a brother, Rudy Miramontes; 18 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 12, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home. Funeral Services will held on Friday, November 12, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Plainsburg Cemetery in Le Grand.

To the children of Leno & Rosie Garcia. My deepest sympathy to all of you. I am glad that I was able to know your parents, and enjoy their company through out the years. Growing up in Planada, they were there for all the kids. Planning all kinds of activities, trips, and whatever we needed to stay out of trouble. Gathering kids and parents in fund raisers to go on trips. They will be missed by those that knew them and how they had helped us in all the clubs we could think of having. I know this cause my mom and I were there. Keep them and all those who have passed on in our prayers. I will always have these thoughts. God bless and take care.

To Patsy, Reyna, Vanessa and the rest of the Garcia's, my deepest condonlences in the loss of your father, Leno. I was so sorry to hear of the death of your dad. We have known each other since the 60's and I can still remember the days when you lived on Haskell just down the street from me and Patsy would have these small parties in the little shack in back of the house & play Motown music (I know you remember Patsy). I can also remember spending countless days at your home growing up. These are all special memories of all of you and your parents. Your mom and dad were just the coolest parents back in our day. You are so blessed to have had such loving, kind and caring parents. Know that your dad is now with your beautiful mother but that he is resting in peace. I pray that you have the strength to get through this very difficult time. I truly wish that I could be there for all of you just as Reyna was with me when I lost my father earlier in the year but unfortunately I cannot but know that I am there in spirit and I will pray for all of you. God Bless all of you.

Although we have never been close, there is a cord that can't be severed which is family. Tió Leno you are in our hearts, and your sons and daughters are all in our prayers. A prayer of peace that passes all understanding that only Jesus Christ can give once we give our burden of grief, loss and pain to Him. As our Uncle Leno leaves this earth, now he can join his beloved wife, Rosie, who has been waiting for him to come up hither to be with her in heaven and be without the pain, and no more suffering, or sorrow as he was here on this earth his last days. This is all our blessed hope, to be joined with our loved ones either through the resurrection of our bodies through Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and his glorious appearing, or through the way of death which may precede the resurrection of our bodies.
