PAUL PARETTI Obituary

1929 ~ 2010

Devoted husband, father, grandfather, provider, and friend.

Paul L. C. Paretti Jr. died on Sept 25, 2010. He was 81 years old. He is survived by his four children: Vincent, Martin (Alice), Lisa (Curtis), and Paul (Cynthia), his eight grand children: Michael (Lara), Sarah (Mark), Paula, Hannah, Christa, Cayla, Anthony, and Sheila, and two great-grand children, Dylan, and Marley. Paul was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on Aug. 20, 1929. Paul attended Warren Easton High School. After high school, Paul worked as a sign painter.

On June 13, 1951, he enlisted into active service with the U.S. Army and fought in the Korean War. During his enlistment, he earned a Combat Infantry Badge, the Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, and two United Nations Service Medals. After his honorable discharge, Paul married Norma Jean Capra on January 30, 1954 in Merced, CA. They permanently moved to Anaheim, CA, in 1967. Norma, his wife of 51 years, passed on Feb. 8, 2005. Paul was a member of the Elks for 50+ years, a member of the American Legion, and was Sir Knight, 4th degree for the Knights of Columbus for over 45 years. He volunteered at St. Justin Martyr Church as an usher, Eucharist Minister, Saint Vincent de Paul society, and for Meals on Wheels. He retired from the Barbra Dawson School for mentally and physically challenged adults with a "Best Boss" award.

Paul was a great father, father-in-law, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He will be greatly missed. Services will be held Friday, October 1 at St. Justin Martyr Church in Anaheim at 10:30am and he will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Mortuary in

Cypress, CA. The Internment will be in the Gardens of Memory, Forest Lawn Memorial Park, in Cypress, California at 3:00pm.

After my parents passed away in 2005, I adopted Paul as my father, but he was much more than a father figure. I knew him to be a great friend and a man of great faith and integrity. We spent many years in prayer and worship together.

My prayers go out to Paul and all those who love him.
