Quinnion (Chief) Reid
January 9, 1939 - March 22, 2014
What we have once enjoyed we can never lose, all that we love deeply becomes part of us. Chief entered into eternal peace on Saturday, March 22, 2014. He was born on January 9, 1939, a son of the late James and Tollie Reid.
He retired after 33 years of faithful service from the Merced County Roads Department, and was an active union member. Chief was a United States Army Veteran, serving his country during the Vietnam War, and a member of the American Legion Post #83, as well as a member of Club Mercedes for 47 years. He was very kind and gentle soul, he had a loving and generous heart. His laughter and witty personality will remain with all who knew him.
He leaves his memories to be cherished by his loving devoted wife of 52 years, Betty Reid, son-in-law Gene Ginn, his two beautiful granddaughters, Terin and Clarke Ginn. He is also survived by four sisters; Keith Ann Reid, Archie Madkins, Eardean Wright and Peggy Madkins, three brothers; James, David, and Walllace Reid. Chief is proceeded in death by the love of his life, his only daughter, Tracy Reid and a brother Leroy. A Celebration of life Memorial Service were held on March 30, 2014 at Club Mercedes, located on 9th and M Street at 3:00P.M.
