Roy, Roberts
August 27, 1921 - January 1, 2017
Roy was born in Cantril, Iowa to Roy and Lottie Roberts.  He passed away at his home in Merced, California with family at his side.  Roy was preceeded by his parents, sister Lucille and brothers Bryant and Ernest, son-in-law Tom Griffin, grandson-in-law Martin Counts, and great grandson Tyler Malcolm.  He is survived by his wife of seventy-four years, Mary Jane.  His children Larry of Grand Junction, CO, Russ of Merced, Judy Griffin of Midpines, Jack (Jacque) of Bailey, CO.  Brother Bill (Mary) of Burlington, IA.  Several grand and great grandchildren.  Roy was a WWII veteran serving in England, France and Belgium.  In 1952 he moved his family to CA where he worked for Douglas Aircraft.  In 1963 Roy and family moved to Midpines where he worked for Mariposa County Roads and Yosemite National Park before joining CalTrans.  He retired in 1983.  In 2006 Roy and Mary Jane moved to their present home in Merced.  At Roy's request there will be no funeral.  There will be graveside services at 1:00 pm on January 13, 2017, at San Joaquin National Cemetary, Santa Nella, CA.  In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Bristol Hospice, Merced, or a .  A special thank you to Nicole Mixon for the care she provided these past several weeks.
