Dec. 6, 1919 - Jan. 3, 2014
Born in Madera, California on Dec. 6, 1919 to Renzo and Mary Bettini. Violet passed away peacefully with daughter Cecilia at her bedside on the afternoon of Jan. 3, 2014. The third of four children, Violet's father Renzo passed away at an early age and Mary remarried John Orio, the best Step-Father a person could ever have. Violet grew up in the Chowchilla and Madera communities with brothers Geno, Roy and sister Lorraine.
Always the first to say yes to any and all community activities, especially those for her children as they went thru the Chowchilla School District, Violet was the leader to assure a good time was held by all.
Many will remember Violet's Custom Drapery business along with Bessie Linhares and Jean Bennett fabricating the finest drapery's available in the Central Valley and mom and her children working side-by-side within that process. Violet extended her decorative career working for several furniture stores assisting hundreds of families in their selection of colors, décor and finding the absolutely perfect accent piece.
In 2001 Violet moved to Fresno to be close to family and friends so that she could participate in all activities. Her family wishes to thank the Pistoresi, Bettini, Martinazzi and Ogle families for their support and love of our mother. She treasured each and every one of you.
Violet is survived by her children Steve, Trish, Cecilia and Jack. 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at St. Joachim Catholic Church in Madera on Wed., Jan. 29 at 11 a.m., followed by a spaghetti and meatballs dinner at the Madera Elks Lodge at 112 W. 6th St.
