William A. Tweed 82 of Merced, CA passed away on September 13, 2017. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Danila (Brush) Tweed, his daughters Rosanna Carrick, Stephanie McWhirt, JoAnn Tweed and his grandchildren, Andrew Carrick, Crystal McWhirt, Kelsey McWhirt and Laura Tweed. He also leaves behind a brother James Tweed.
He was born in Camden, New Jersey and was raised in Ocean City, New Jersey by his cherished and loving parents William J. Tweed DDS. and Ann (Hurff) Tweed. He served our country in the United States Army and was inspired to join the Peace Corps with the speech of President John F. Kennedy. He was later stationed in Peru where he met the love of his life, Danila Brush. He established his home in Merced, Ca and worked for Merced County Schools for over 25 years.
Bill Tweed was highly regarded and an inspiration to so many. We will all miss the man who was good-hearted, kind, generous, gracious, and had an incredibly amiable personality. He was an exemplary husband and exceptional father.
A "Celebration Of Life" was held on October 14, 2017 in Coarsegold, CA.

the Thornton family remembers bill tweed as a caring and fun and loving person and very helpful and a fun person to talk to we new the tweed family for many years and watched the kids grow up to be great hard working people and he was a man that had a heart of gold when it came to helping with advise and a ear to go to to talk to in the time of need he will truly be missed and will always be remembered and never forgotten sincerely the Thornton family...rest in peace as we will see each other someday.....

he was a very caring and kind person whom my family has known for so many years and as we watched their kids grow up and as we stayed friends for so many years he will truly be missed and we will keep the family in our prayers as we wish them all the best in life sincerely the Thornton sr family............

i'm so sorry to learn that we have lost another brother in christ jesus but now he is now walking and resting beside jesus christ our lord and saviour and there is no more pain we will truly miss our dear friend and brother that we have all known for so many years my heart goes out to the family and i wish the tweed family all the best and i'm so proud to say that i had the pleasure of being around and knowing the bill tweed that we have all loved and had the pleasure of having in our lives god bless you and take care......
