Veleria Imogene (Red) Leonardo was born on October 30, 1929 in Wheeler, Texas to parents Carl Red and Marjorie Townzen Red.

She passed away peacefully on May 17, 2014 in Modesto California at the age of 84.
Veleria spent her childhood growing up in the Madera/Chowchilla area. She was a graduate of Chowchilla High School class of 1947.
Over the course of her life, she worked several jobs; but the job that gave her the greatest pleasure was raising her seven children.
Veleria and her Husband Paul sponsored their son's fast-pitch softball team for several years. She never missed a game. Her second love was the San Francisco Giants. She knew every player and kept score religiously.
She is survived by Daughters: Joene Mato (Mike) of Rocklin and Carlotta Morgan (Mark) of Elko, NV. Five Sons: John (Cheryl) of Roseville, Joseph (Pat), Jerry (Cheryl) of Atwater and David of Fish Camp: Daughter-in-law Janet of Merced, two brothers: Jerry Red of Atwater and Rick Red of Folsom: twenty-one grandchildren and twenty-nine Great Grandchildren.
Veleria is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Leonardo Sr. Her son Paul Leonardo Jr. Her Parents Carl Red and Marjorie Mathis and Brothers CA Red and Larry Mathis.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, May 21st, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. with a recitation of the Rosary at 6:00 p.m., at Ivers & Alcorn Funeral Home, 3050 Winton Way in Atwater. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 A.M., Thursday, May 22, 2014 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Atwater, the burial will follow at Winton District Cemetery in Winton.
