Rudolph M. Moreno "Rudy", age 87, a resident of Atwater passed away Friday, August 23, 2013 at home with his family by his side.
Rudolph was born July 16, 1926 in Los Angeles, California to the late Trancito and Luciana Moreno.
Rudolph enlisted in the United States Army November 11, 1944. He was a WWII veteran, he was also stationed in the Philippines during the Pacific Theater. Also during the Armistice signature he was station in Tokyo, Japan as a decoder. After serving in the Army he enlisted and was honorable discharged from the National Guard.
Rudolph loved all sports, he was an avid Los Angeles Dodgers fan and had a true passion for golf.
He worked in the newspaper business for over 48 years starting as an apprentice printer to working in the composing room as a foreman.
Rudy you have filled our hearts with a lifetime of loving memories.
Rudolph leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 32 years, Eleanor Moreno of Atwater, CA.; daughters: Kathy Anderson of Friant, CA., Stella Moreno of Aptos, CA., Cecile Gonzales of Clovis, CA., Teresa Aguallo of Fresno, CA., Gail Brasseal of Fairfield, CA. and Penny Stanford of Chowchilla, CA.; two sons: Stephen Cutshall of Winton, CA. and Tracy Cutshall of Colorado Springs, CO.; three brothers: Herbert Moreno of Santa Cruz, CA., Richard Moreno of Washington and Trancito Moreno Jr. of Fresno, CA.; two sisters: Margie Balderama of Fresno, CA. and Petra Aguilar of Clovis, CA. He is further survived by 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Rudolph is preceded in death by his parents, Trancito and Luciana Moreno and a brother, David Moreno.
A visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at Ivers & Alcorn Funeral Home, 3050 Winton Way in Atwater. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2889 N. Buhach Road in Atwater. The burial will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Gustine, CA.
