William Peterson Obituary

Resident of Palo Alto
Bill died this month after a long struggle with COPD.
During his life, he served his church, his country and his community. He loved his family; his wife, Bea, and children William and Pamela (Wong) Warrior, Mary Elizabeth Peterson, Mike and Alice (Peterson) Cassidy, Tony and Isolina Martinez-Peterson and was a loving Papa to Bailey and Riley and they loved him back.
Bill was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in San Francisco, class of 1954. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps, was an officer of the Palo Alto Police Reserve, a volunteer at Fisher House and the Rose Garden at the VA Hospital. He was always ready to help whenever needed.
Bill's family thanks the VA Hospice staff, whose loving care gave him and his family the quality of life to enjoy his last days.
A celebration of Bill's life will be held on Feb. 15, at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 3233 Cowper St., Palo Alto. Memorial donations may be made to St. Charles School, 3250 18th St., San Francisco, CA, 94110, or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Bill and I were very good friends during our papd days. I am very sorry to learn of Bill's passing as we have not seen each other in many years.

I was very sad to learn of Bill's passing. He was a proud Marine and a true gentleman in every sense. In my visits with Bill, I knew him to be a loving husband to his beautiful bride Bea, a great dad to his four loving children of whom he was so proud, and of course a very devoted granddad. I wish Bill's family God's peace and comfort in this time of loss and always.

Greg & I are so very sorry to hear about our friend & co-worker from the Palo Alto Times, Bill Peterson's passing. He was a friend & much beloved man. We send our prayers & love to his wife Bea, children & friends at this tme. Even though we just learned of his memorial gathering, we are there in thoughts & remembrances, for Bill & his family. Robert Henderson, a friend from days at the Times, also sends his thoughts & wishes to Bill's family in this sad time. Even though we had all scattered in the ensuing years, we had great great memories of times shared & our friends. Goodbye to our friend Bill
