At the age of 79, John (Jay) James McCluskey Jr passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on January 22nd, 2022.
Originally from Arlington, Massachusetts, Jay, his wife, and children moved to San Jose in 1974 where he worked in the electronics industry for over 30 years. Although he may have been far from New England, his accent never faded and his love for the New England sports teams, especially the Patriots and Red Sox, remained strong. Along with rooting for his favorite teams, Jay thoroughly enjoyed cooking and hosting Sunday dinners for his family where his homemade sauce was a staple.
Jay was preceded in death by his parents, John and Menina; his loving sister, Martha; and his son, Michael. He is survived by his adoring wife, Katherine; his six children, Kathy Patino (Dan), John (Neckola), Betsy Gaudin (Jeff), Patrick (Beverly), Meghan Correa (Lou) and Julie Espinoza (Eric); 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; his sister, Jean; his brother, Paul; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 12pm on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church, 366 St. Julie Dr, San Jose. In lieu of flowers please consider donating blood to the American Red Cross or making monetary donations to The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society in support of his granddaughter or Kaiser Hospice San Jose or a charity of your choice.

I just spoke with Ed Texiera.My sincerest condolences.JAy ,Edand myself had a lot laughs and good times at NU. I think we all worked for A&P I deeply regret his passing.He will always be with you in your hearts. I am very sad that I was unaware of his passing and missed the virtual funeral.

My sincere condolences.I just learned by chance of Jays passing From my son also Louis who was mistakenly contacted by Ed Texiera thinking he was contacting me.We all went to NU together as Mktg majors and graduated in 1966.Jay was a good guy and I´m sure a terrific husband ,father and grandfather.
