Dear Aunt Bernice, no words could ever express the gratitude and love that I have in my heart for you. Though we came into the family a little later, you treated us like we had been there all along. From day one you accepted us with open arms, and never failed to show us the same love you showed your blood nieces and nephews.
For me, personally, I cannot thank you enough for all you have done for me. When I left school you were right there, offering me a job right beside you at E.F. Foley… of course I took it. That was my first real experience in the working world, some 33 years ago. I still list that job on my resumes today, because of how much influence that experience AND you had on me, and my work ethic. During the short time that I was there, you taught me more lessons than I've learned in the years since then; important and useful lessons about work etiquette, and more importantly… about LIFE. I still use these lessons today, to help me along on my journey.
Through all of my failures, and bad decisions that I've made in my life, you never once judged me or ridiculed me… though I'm sure you had to bite your tongue on occasion. If I was afraid, or nervous about doing something, with just a few words and a slight nod - and in your calm and matter of fact way - you would tell me I could do it… and I believed you.
I know I am not the only one who could go on and on about the many things you've done for them. You have helped every member of our family, in one way or another, at one time or another… you were the thread that stitched us all together as a family. And I know you're graciousness did not stop there, but rather extended to all your friends, and probably even to individuals who crossed your path but once.
I will miss you tremendously; probably more than I think… we will all miss you tremendously. We will all miss your warm smile, and the positive energy and love that just seemed to flow from within you. Memories of running around with all the other kids in your barns, and through your fields will always be some of my favorite childhood memories, and they will always have their special little place in my heart.
Rest in God's glorious Heaven, and forever rest in peace. I love you Aunt Bernice.

Aunt Bernice, you were a 2nd Mom to all of us nieces and nephews. Never missed our birthdays when we were young and never missed those of our children. You and Uncle John never missed a family occasion and even had your own motto: "We show up!"
You worried about all of us and showed with your deeds. Even though that meant, when babysitting, tucking me in as a child, so tight I couldn't move or testing my blood sugar level as an adult!
Love you and miss you forever.

Aunt Bernice you were a strong Christian woman who fully lived your faith in Jesus Christ. Strong to the bone. You did not let your health slow you down one bit. You were inspiring and always a great compassionate lady. My parents enjoyed knowing you as well through their investments at Foley's where you worked for so long. You will be missed dearly Aunt Bernice.
