Aaron Summers Jackson A retired lawyer, public servant, and father, died on February 10, 2013 at Mercy San Juan Medical Center in Carmichael, CA due to complications related to pneumonia. He was 91 years old. Born the second of three children to Ruth and Elbert "Bud" Jackson in Meridian, TX on April 11, 1921, Aaron briefly attended the University of Texas
before enlisting in the US Navy. He served from September 1944 to June 1946 as an Aviation Electrician's Mate, Third Class stationed primarily in San Diego. After receiving an honorable discharge, Aaron moved to the Bay Area to study law, receiving his LL.B. from the University of San Francisco on June 8, 1952 before passing the California State Bar Examination on February 11, 1953. He lived in Daly City and practiced law out of his office in Burlingame, CA, was a member of the San Mateo County Bar Association, and served San Mateo County in various committee and court roles. During his prime, Aaron was an avid golfer, tennis player, bicyclist, camper, and folk-music enthusiast. On December 2, 1988 Aaron married Olivia de Asis in Makati, Philippines before moving to their new home together in San Mateo. On February 25, 1991 Olivia gave birth to twins Thomas and Andrew Jackson. The family moved to Gold River, CA in 1998, after which Aaron retired from his legal career. He dedicated himself to raising his kids and worshiped at Cordova Neighborhood Church from then until the end of his life. Aaron was predeceased by parents Elbert and Ruth Jackson, and siblings Paul Jackson and Reba Gebron. A viewing will be held at East Lawn Mortuary in Sacramento on Wednesday from 3:00PM to 8:00PM. On Friday a memorial service will be held at Cordova Neighborhood Church in Rancho Cordova beginning at 11:00AM with Pastor Mike Mitchum officiating, followed by a reception. Aaron will be laid to rest in a private military funeral at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, CA.
