Anna Belle O'Toole

Anna Belle O'Toole
December 5, 1921 - September 26, 2013
Resident of San Jose, CA
Our wonderful friend, Anna Belle O'Toole, passed into the hands of our Good Lord, Thursday, September 26, 2013. Anna Belle and her late husband, Joe, arrived in San Jose in 1970. From the beginning of their residency, the love they both felt for and of this area established San Jose as home forever.
Anne Belle was born December 5, 1921 in Gilmer County, West Virginia, the second daughter of Max and Osa Lynch. She spent all her growing up years in West Virginia and in 1943 graduated from Fairmont State Teachers College, Fairmont, West Virginia. From the year 1943, Anna Belle spent many years as an elementary and middle school mathematics teacher. She taught school in the states of Kentucky and Florida, before moving to and teaching in Southern California. She ended her career as a teacher at Rancho Milpitas Middle School, Milpitas, California, where she taught from 1971 till her retirement in 1987.
Anne Belle was an active member of the South Side Community Center South Side Players, writing, directing, and starring in many enjoyable skits and plays. She loved dancing, especially with her Joe, but she would not turn down any opportunity to dance at parties, even enjoying her role as Dancing Queen so much that she once broke her leg dancing at a neighbor's quinceanera. She was also active in her church, working with the Outreach program and the Funeral Ministry.
A huge adjustment in "Life without This Wonderful, Delightful Lady" is felt by her many friends, current and former neighbors, and also by her nephew, Mike and two grand-nieces, Elizabeth and Tracy, residents of Pennsylvania.
Services will be held Wednesday, October 2nd, at Santa Teresa Catholic Church, 794 Calero Ave., San Jose, CA. Viewing at 9:00 AM, service at 10:00 AM. Internment will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to your own favorite charity.
