Anthony "Tony" Gurash passed away at his home on April 29, 2013 after a short illness. Tony served 44 years as a Mechanical Department Supervisor for Southern Pacific Lines until his retirement from the Railroad on July 5, 1981. During his retirement, he and his wife, Antoinette, were able to travel around the world. Tony was also a member of the 720th Railroad Battalion, stationed in Europe during World War II.
Tony is survived by his wife of 69 years, Antoinette "Toni" Gurash; two sons, Danny and Tommy and his wife, Christina; and two granddaughters, Courtney and Samantha.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Tony's memory can be made to the Vitas Hospice Care at or to Familiar Surroundings Home Care, 1568 Meridian Ave. San Jose, California 95125
A Chapel Blessing and Rosary will be held at Mehl's Colonial Chapel on Tuesday, May 7th at 1 p.m. with visitation prior to the service from 11- 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Watsonville Catholic Cemetery.
