Bernard Newsom

Bernard Dean Newsom b.2/8/1924 d.12/17/2012 Generous of Heart, Constant of Faith. After a long illness, "Bud" died in St. Helena, CA. He was a noble and courageous man. During WWII, Bud served in the Army Air Corps as a navigation instructor. He worked at the Naval Radiation Defense Laboratory in San Francisco, at General Dynamics in San Diego, and NASA in Houston, TX. Bud helped develop designs and equipment for artificial gravity, astronaut suits, and the lunar landing module for the Mercury and Apollo missions. Bud is survived by his wife Marie, sons Skip and Ron Newsom, and granddaughter Adrienne Newsom.
