Don Berggren passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. He touched many lives with his quiet spirit, positive outlook on life and strong values.
Don was born in San Jose where he lived his entire life. He graduated from San Jose Technical High School and shortly after, Don met the love of his life Lorraine Dirienzo and they were married for 50 years until her death in 2001. After serving as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Marines honorably during the Korean War, Don enjoyed a 30 year career with the International Sheet Metal Workers.
He enjoyed motorcycles, computers, an occasional glass of red wine, but most of all his family.
Don is survived by his loving and devoted children Eric Berggren and Tess of San Jose, Stephen Berggren and Anne of Carmel Indiana, Leslie Russo and Matt of Danville and Elizabeth Foster and Glen of Cupertino including twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to an open house on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at Don's house in San Jose from 1-4 p.m.
