Dorothy Chang Lee of Los Gatos, CA, previously of Pasadena, CA died on October 9, 2013. Dorothy was born in Honolulu, HI where she attended her beloved St. Andrews Priory. She earned a bachelors degree at the University of Hawaii and masters degree at Indiana University
. Dorothy was a lifelong learner and was known for her amazing curiosity. She was also the life of any party. Dorothy loved family, friends, food and fun and was known for her quick, sometimes biting, wit and sense of humor. She had strong opinions about everything, and she as not afraid to share them.
Dorothy was well read and well spoken. She was a gifted and entertaining writer and delighted friends and family with her poetry and prose. Dorothy enjoyed travel, and she was lucky enough to journey throughout the world. She had a genuine interest in people and their stories, and she had a knack for remembering minute details of people's lives. Dorothy was generous, thoughtful, kind and will be remembered for sharing her many gifts. She was a strong and indomitable spirit.
Survived by children Laura (Rusty), Lani (Joe), Douglas (Kellee) and granddaughter Alison as well as many other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by husband Hong-Yong and son Bruce. A memorial service will be held Oct. 26, 2013, 2 pm at St. Jude the Apostle Church, 20920 McClellan Road, Cupertino, CA 95014. Dress is Hawaiian casual or something bright. A light reception will follow.
In early 2014 a memorial service will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church, Pasadena, CA. Inurnment will be at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery, Kaneohe, Oahu. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Andrews Priory or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
