Drucilla Mercedes Redwine
Resident of San Jose
Drucilla Redwine passed away peacefully on November 5, 2013 after a long and courageous fight with cancer. Dru was born on October 15, 1949 in San Jose to Elba and Bruce Redwine Jr., both of whom predeceased her. She graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School and San Jose State University. She worked for the Admissions and Records Office at SJSU for 16 years, and served as the Director of Records for several years prior to beginning a 21 year career at San Jose Water Company. She served as the Superintendent of Customer Service there since 2002.
Over many years, Dru volunteered frequently and fervently for Rebuilding Together, Race for the Cure, and Relay for Life. She was a loving mother, a gourmet cook, a voracious reader, an intrepid world traveler, and a generous and caring friend. She spent many great times with family and friends in her favorite place, Hawaii.
Dru is survived by her daughter Rachel (Siehl) Kleinhoffer, her son-in-law Jason, and granddaughter, Mattie Grace; her brother Bruce Redwine, III, sister-in-law Kit, and nephew Marc. She will be greatly missed by family and her many friends.
A memorial service will be held on November 16, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Lima Family Erickson Memorial Chapel, 710 Willow Street, San Jose. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pets Care (www.petscare.org), Rebuilding Together - Silicon Valley, or the Susan B. Komen Cancer Foundation.
