Louisa passed away at Eden Villa in Pleasanton CA, where she was loved and cared for by a staff of dedicated and attentive care givers. She was born in Indiana, daughter of George and Agnes Pendleton and sister of Robert Pendleton. She grew up in a small farming community but decided to pursue her career and moved to California after graduating from the University of Illinois with a degree in Library Science. Her career as a Librarian spanned more than 35 years, primarily for the City of San Jose and was responsible for creating a number of service programs providing books and audio tapes to "shut in" and visually impaired patrons.
She is survived by her son, Bruce Griehshammer, her daughter in law, Donna, four grandchildren, Carly, Janae, Alissa and Andrew Griehshammer, three great-grandchildren and her brother Robert Pendleton and many nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in downtown San Jose for many years and even with her quiet personality, was a strong believer and loved the Lord.
Her generous loving spirit will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Friends and family are invited to attend her celebration of life on Friday, February 22nd from 12pm (noon) to 1pm at Graham-Hitch Mortuary (925.846.5624) in Pleasanton, Ca. Burial will follow the service at Oak Hill Cemetery in San Jose at 2pm.
