Frances H. Miller
October 18, 1920 - March 11, 2013
Resident of San Mateo
Frances H. Miller, aged 92, passed away peacefully at her home while under hospice care on Monday, March 11, 2013. Frances was born in San Francisco and spent her childhood in the Mission District. She attended Mission High School. Her husband, Jesse M. Miller, was serving in the U.S. Army at Ft. Baker on the San Francisco Bay during WWII
when they met and married. Frances and Jesse celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary on January 26 of this year. She moved from San Francisco to San Mateo with Jesse and their son Craig in 1949. Her working life included homemaking, beautician services following cosmetology school, and office manager for a local plumbing shop for twenty years. Over Frances' long and active life she enjoyed camping, boating, water skiing, golfing, shopping trips with her sisters to San Francisco, visiting with her family both locally and in the mid west, vacationing at Lake Tahoe, family parties, holiday dinners and visiting with her many kind and long-time good neighbors. Above all, Frances will be remembered for enjoying and being able to tell many good jokes. A serious subject always seemed to end on the humorous side with a final comment and a laugh from Frances. Jesse and Frances' son, Craig M. Miller, precedes her in death. Frances is survived by her husband, Jesse M. Miller, and an extended family of nieces and nephews who love and miss her.
In place of flowers, the family requests a donation in her name to your local hospice organization.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 1st, 11:00 AM, Crystal Springs Chapel at Skylawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park, Hwy 92, San Mateo, CA.
