Gerald E. Watson died peacefully at his daughter's home. Weeks earlier he celebrated his 84th birthday with most of his children present. Jerry was born in Columbus, OH and graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in accounting. He married Elizabeth "Libby" Downing and the couple had four children together before divorcing. A pilot in the U.S. Air Force, he served two tours in Vietnam prior to leaving active duty to begin his accounting career. He later married Eloise Stone Gould and the couple moved to the S.F. Bay Area where they lived for 23 years. Jerry joined the U.S. Air Force Reserves, and subsequently retired with the rank of colonel. Eloise died from Alzheimer's in 2003, and soon after Jerry retired from his accounting career and moved to New Mexico. A man with an adventurous spirit, Jerry had myriad interests including music (especially Jazz), model railroading, and telling corny jokes. Survivors include his sister Betty Eschelman and children Jeff and Chris Watson, Becky Parker, Jennifer Leinbach, and Peggy Petersen. At Jerry's request no memorial service was held.
