Resident of San Carlos
The youngest of 6 children, Gordon was born in San Mateo on July 7, 1923 and passed away on Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011 at the age of 87.
After serving in the Army
, Gordon, along with his wife Jean, made their home in San Carlos for 65 years. Gordon was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. He was loved by all who knew him and a "second father" to many! Gordon loved sports and could often be found on the golf course, at Memorial Stadium in Berkeley or cheering on the Giants and 49ers. Throughout the years, he was also an enthusiastic fan at local parks, fields and gyms rooting on the "home team". He especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren play baseball, basketball and volleyball throughout their elementary and high school years.
Gordon spent most of his career at Keuffel & Esser in San Francisco and was the Regional Branch Manager when he retired. During retirement, he was an active member of the Elks Club
, SIRS and the Oughtred Society and served as a HICAP volunteer counselor.
Gordon was a beloved husband to Jean Callow Anthony and a wonderful father to Bruce Anthony, Jan Mazzetta and Lori Hindenach. Gordon is survived by his wife and children and their spouses: Teresa Anthony, Jay Mazzetta and John Hindenach; in addition to 6 grandchildren: Trevor, Tyler and Heather Anthony, Jason Mazzetta (wife Keara), Julia Clauson (husband Damien) and Kevin Hindenach as well as 2 great grandchildren: Vera and Keller Mazzetta.
