Harold Elvin Hedberg passed away early Monday morning. He was always there for the people he loved and who loved him. Elvin, honorable, funny, kind, smart, and who could build or fix anything and who always told the best jokes.
Elvin was born in Oakland, CA, graduated from Fremont High School and earned a bachelor's degree in engineering from the University of Berkeley. After serving in the US Army for four years, Elvin enjoyed a more than 40 year career as a civil engineer. He retired in 1989 and enjoyed his retirement by going to his cabin in the Sierra's, taking long vacations with his wife Beverly, spending time with his fellow Elks Lodge Members and tinkering on various projects around the house. He enjoyed his time with his family and friends.
Elvin is survived by his loving wife Beverly; devoted children, Joan Marie Lamica of Sunnyvale CA, and Brenda Ann Coe of Moscow ID; stepchildren Dixon James Bush of Sebastopol CA and Karen Marie Bettencourt of Sunnyvale CA; grandchildren Molly, Paul, Ali, Zack, Luke, Jake, Ron, Barbi, Michael, Christopher, Amanda, Tyson, Tami, Paige Tessa, Freddie, Angela, Bill and Sandy; and great grandchildren Milley, Rudy Gabby, Shane, Aaron, Noah and Harley. He also survived by his nephew Larry and niece Sharon. His generous loving spirit and smile will be missed by all who knew him.
Friends and family are invited to join in a Celebration of Life service on Saturday September 28, 2013 at 2:30pm at the Sunnyvale Elks Lodge, 375 N. Pastoria Ave, Sunnyvale CA 94087.
