Jason Michael Long
Resident of Mountain View
Jason Michael Long, 38, passed away on November 26, 2013 at El Camino Hospital. He was born in Dayton, Ohio on July 15, 1975 to Keith & Nancy Smith (both deceased).
He was a beloved Husband, Father, Nephew, Son-In-Law, and Brother-In-Law. To friends he was a hero and a man with strength and character, one you could call on anytime.
When called on, he would ride, no matter the distance, to render any help he could. He was always ready with a handshake and a hug.
Jason proudly served his country in two services. While serving with the US Marine Corps
, he was assigned to the 1st Bn/1st Marine Div. He then served with the US Air Force as a Security Forces Craftsman assigned first to the 163 SFS, March AB, CA and then to the 129 SFS, Moffett FAF, CA. Jason served in support of Operations Noble Eagle, Iraqi Freedom, and Enduring Freedom and achieved the rank of Master Sergeant. In his military capacity he was a mentor, leader and the type of NCO that others emulated.
He is survived by his wife Chantel Long, whom he loved for 16 years and was married to for 14 years. He is additionally survived by his three children; Sabrina, Ashlee and Denton. It would be difficult to count the number of lives that Jason has positively touched and left a long lasting and endearing impression. He will be missed by all and never forgotten.
A memorial service will be held on December 7, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Moffett FAF, CA.
