Joyce passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, December 11, 2013. She touched many lives with her generosity and kindness.
Joyce was born in Albany, California and graduated from Albany High School. She soon met her husband Mike with whom she remained happily married to for 53 years. Together they raised their four children in their San Jose home. Joyce was a home maker until entering the workforce in 1974 where she worked in the insurance and medical fields until her retirement. At retirement she was able to enjoy travel with her many friends, volunteering, crafts include jewelry making, and spoiling her 5 grandchildren.
Joyce is survived by her loving husband Mike Ferrante; devoted children David and Tatia Ferrante, Kathleen and Robert Lopez, Chris and Scott Pinheiro, Kerry and Frank Alvernaz and grandchildren Hayley Ferrante, Robert and Thomas Lopez, Dustin and Marshall Alvernaz. She is also survived by her sister Pat Castro and her brother Bill Collins. Her generous and loving spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
Friends and Family are invited to a celebration of her life on Saturday, December 28, 2013, from Noon-4pm at the San Jose Elk's Lodge, 444 W. Alma Ave, San Jose.
