Resident of Larkspur
Layne Ellen Dorr passed away peacefully on March 1, 2014 at the age of 63. She was reunited in heaven with her father and fellow Giants fan, John Dorr and younger brother, Jeff Dorr.
Layne is survived by her best friend and loving mother Peggy Dorr of San Jose; her much beloved brother, Jim Dorr (Leticia) and dear niece and nephew, Marissa and Christopher Dorr all of San Lorenzo; her Uncle Bill O'Neil (Rita) of Las Vegas, Nevada; cousins Heidi and Melissa Lynch also of Las Vegas, Nevada. She leaves behind numerous other cousins and extended family members whom she loved very much. Additionally, Layne, "Yaya", is lovingly remembered by the three children she helped raise since 1979; Chris Tribolet (Lisa) and his three children Aidan, Colby and April all of Waterford, Ct; Danielle Caselli (Ron) and their daughter Alexa of Valley Ford, Ca; Mike Tribolet (the apple of her eye) of Petaluma, Ca.
Layne was born in San Jose, Ca on February 5, 1951. She graduated from Camden High School in 1969. After graduation from high school Layne followed her heart to Hawaii and back. She went on to earn the hearts, love and respect of the staff and children she worked with at Neil Cummins Elementary School over the past 30+ years. She was dedicated to her job and friends in the shipping industry where she worked for more than 25 years. In that time, Layne made her way from company secretary to vice president.
Layne was a lover of life, shopping, music, concerts, and good food. She was a daughter, sister, auntie and mom. She was a best friend to many, a listener, a straight shooter, a generous giver of herself, her money and her time. She was a believer in the power of positive thinking, astrology, the Blessed Mother and a supporter of the underdog. She was a San Francisco Giants' baseball fan to her very core. The sound of her heartbeat was HUMMMMMMMMM baby.
A celebration of Layne's life will be held at the Corte Madera Recreation Center, 498 Tamalpais Dr, Corte Madera, Ca on April 6, 2014 at 3:00pm. The color black is strictly prohibited.
