Merwin "Dale" Pearson

On October 13th, Dale was called to heaven to be reunited with his wife, Millie (2009), who was the love of his life. Dale was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Claude and Olga Pearson, but grew up in Hopkins, Minnesota. After high school, he attended the University of Minnesota
, where he majored in Aeronautical Engineering. Halfway through he was called up and served as a Navy pilot for 2 1/2 years and then he returned to the University to complete his BS degree. On December 29, 1945, he married his high school sweetheart, Millie, whom he was married to for 63 years. In 1958, he packed up his family and moved to California, where he started his 30 year career at Lockheed, as an Aeronautical Engineer. Dale's second love was flying, so he indulged in this passion whenever he had a chance. He also enjoyed the outdoors, so most of the family vacations were spent camping and fishing.
Dale is survived by his children; Thomas; Diane; Scott; and Keith; two daughters-in-law: Jackie, and Suzanne; ten grandchildren: Geoffrey, Emily, Joel, Dana, Mark, Ashley, Heidi, Amy, Erik and Sofia; four great-grandchildren: Hailey, Taylor, Aiden and Anna Stesia; one sister, Claudine; two brother in-laws, Roger and Frank; one sister in-law, Helen; and three nieces: Darla, Jeannie and Barbara. Dale was loved and cherished by them all.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Dale will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 2:00pm, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 14103 Saratoga Avenue, Saratoga.
