Bob was born November 1,1931 to Paul Revere Hichborn and Edith Lois Bean. He attended schools in San Jose and graduated from San Jose State University with a B.S. in Biological Science. He later received a M.S. in Biological Science from Oklahoma State University.
Bob was married to his wife, Susan, for 39 years. After her death in 1994,he married his current wife Marian in 1997. They had known each other since kindergarten. Between Bob and Marian they have six children (one deceased). Robert's children- Robert Jr. and Ellen Murphy, and daughter-in-law Yasmin. Marian's children -Cleve(deceased), Kirk, Michael, and Sandra.
Between them they have fourteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He has worked as a farm laborer, a lab technician in the food industry, a surgical nurse in the U.S. Army, a Biology Teacher, and a High School Principal. He retired as Director of Personnel at the school district. The West San Jose Lions Club of Campbell has kept him very involved over the years. Having held numerous positions in the club and is a Past District Governor of Lions International. He has attended twelve Lions In-Sight Clinic Trips to Mexico. As Spanish was a second language for Bob- he was an interpreter on many occasions. Bob was also a member of the Golden Rule Lodge #479 and the Scottish Rite. His hobbies include gardening, numismatics, and travel.
In respect of his wishes, there will be no services. He would prefer that everyone remember all the good times!
