Former Resident of San Jose
Roger Davis passed away at his home in Star, Idaho with his wife Mary by his side, after a year-long battle with cancer. Roger grew up in San Jose and enlisted in the US Army
after graduating from high school where he served for three years. He was passionate about motorsports and aviation. After his military service, Roger was employed as a crop duster throughout the Central Valley. He also enjoyed racing go-carts, taking trips on his motorcycles, and watching the Indy 500. Roger worked for Western Digital, in San Jose, for 17 years and contributed to making it one of the largest disk drive companies in the world. After retiring from Western Digital, Roger and his wife Mary moved north to Star, Idaho, where Roger fulfilled his dream of driving a big rig all around the country. After his commercial driving experience, Roger worked throughout the Southwest helping to put out and prevent wildfires. Roger was a kind and loving husband, father, brother, and son. He was a wonderful father to Eric, never missing his basketball games or a phone call to catch up on the day. Roger was married to Mary for 28 years and loved her greatly. Roger was preceded in death by his father Alfred Davis and Mother-in-law Helene Hamilton. Roger is survived by his wife Mary, his son Eric, and his sister Cheryl. Per Roger's request there will be a private family service.
Thanks Roger, it was a great ride.
