Roy Denman

Roy E. Denman Resident of Saratoga Roy E. Denman, a sweet gentle man passed away suddenly, at home, on December 20, 2013. Roy was born in San Francisco on July 7, 1925. His family moved to the peninsula and he graduated from Palo Alto High School in 1942. After serving in the 6th Army in the South Pacific during WWII he continued his education earning a BA at San Jose State and a MBA at Stanford University. Roy's profession was insurance and he spent most of his working life at Fireman's Fund, retiring in 1988. His activities in retirement included traveling, bridge and his lifelong passion for reading. Roy is survived by his loving wife, Lynne, his brother, Frank, grandson, Paul, 2 great grandchildren, niece, Lynn Scharff, stepdaughters Karen MacAllister, Kelly Patrino and 2 step grandchildren, Matthew and Melanie Patrino. A son, Marshall, predeceased him in 1981. Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life service to be held at the Saratoga Oaks Clubhouse in Saratoga, at 2:00 p.m. on Jan. 11, 2014. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the YMCA at 20803 Alves Dr., Cupertino, CA 95014.
