Ruth Ann "Pharmer" Holleran

Ruth Ann Holleran of Saratoga, California, passed away Monday evening at Good Samaritan Hospital after complications arising during heart surgery. Born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late William and Madelyn Pharmer. Ruth Ann graduated from the West Valley Junior College medical assistant program and subsequently spent many years providing loving care to patients for several local medical practitioners. She was employed by the Saratoga Family Health Center medical facility for the last thirty years. She was also a community service volunteer for the Saratoga Foothill Club and most recently served as the chairman of the Sunshine Committee. She loved traveling, golf, parties (any kind of party) and attending Sharks, Giants and A's games with her husband and family. Ruth Ann's greatest joy was being a grandparent and she spent much of her time with her twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Survivors include her loving husband of almost 60 years and high school sweetheart, Charles Richard Holleran, her son John Holleran (Debbie) of Boise Idaho; her son Robert Holleran (Nancy) of Monte Sereno, Ca, her son Daniel Holleran (Joanne) of Phoenix, Az, and her daughter Mary Ann Escobar (Mark) of Saratoga, Ca. Her loving grandchildren include Katie, Brian, Greg, CJ, Robin, Kevin, Ryan, Garret, Morgan, Michael, Matthew, and Natalie. Her great-grandchildren include Sofia, Allison, Evie, Oliver, Samantha, Hailey, Kirsten, Ian, Blakely, and Reagan.
A funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred heart Church on Saratoga Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Catholic Charities of Santa Clara Valley. To leave condolences and for directions, contact Darling and Fisher Funeral Home
