Sharon Linda DeLap (Duncan) Searle Aug. 21, 1948 ~ May 17, 2013 Resident of Fremont Born to Paul Bernard DeLap and Norma Lee Schultz (DeLap) Collins in Reedley; Ca. Died in Fremont, Ca., from metastatic breast cancer. She graduated from Sunnyvale High in 1966, and married Rick Duncan in October 1968 and graduated from San Jose State University with a major in English/minor in Art in 1973. She received her teaching credential from Cal Poly Pomona in 1974. Sharon began her teaching career in Evergreen School District in 1975 and taught grades 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 until 2010 when she retired. She felt it was her life's calling. She cherished many life-long friendships. Her beloved son, Bryan Richard Duncan, was born in 1978. She divorced in 1980 and married Ron Searle in May of 1991. He was the love of her life and a steadfast friend. She was fortunate to also inherit two wonderful step-children. Sharon loved art, reading, traveling and spending time with family and friends. Survived by husband Ron Searle, son Bryan Duncan, children Sebastian and Jazmyne; Sean and Becky Searle, children Alexis and Madison; Heather and Steve Smith, and children Christian, Gillian, Kaitlyn. Also survived by her mother, Norma Collins, brothers Timothy (Ely) DeLap and Michael (June) DeLap, and sister Darla Naylor and their children. Memorial Service Saturday, May 25, at Mission Springs Community Church, 48989 Milmont Dr., Fremont, CA 94539.
