Vincenzo Pietropaoli passed away peacefully in San Jose on February 18, 2014.
Vince was born October 20, 1935 in Rome, Italy. He immigrated to the United States at the age of 19 to study at the University of California, Berkeley. He met his wife June while both were attending Berkeley. They were married and Vince graduated with an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering. He later obtained a graduate degree, Master's of Science in Physics, from San Jose State University. Mr. Pietropaoli became a U.S. citizen. Vince began his career at Lockheed Missiles & Space, soon thereafter becoming a Supervisor on the Polaris and Trident Missile program. Mr. Pietropaoli was widely respected and had the reputation as being a superlative manager. Vince retired from Lockheed in 1992 to devote himself to family and his personal business. A long-time resident of Monte Sereno, he was a member of The Ferrari Club of America, SIRS Los Gatos Branch 141, Los Gatos Elk's B.P.O.E.#1857, and The Italian American Heritage Club, all where he enjoyed many friends and wonderful times.
Vince is survived by his wife of 57 years, June, daughters Jennifer and Juliet, four grandchildren, Kevin and Eric Stanton, and Blake and Christina Alexander. There will be a memorial service Saturday March 1st at 1:30 at St. Mary's Church 219 Bean St. in Los Gatos. The family wishes donations to be made in Vince's name to the
