William Hewett Donovan July 26, 1930-April 20, 2013 Resident of San Mateo After a 10 year battle with Alzheimer's, Bill passed away peacefully in San Mateo, California. He loved life and maintained a positive attitude until the end. Married for 54 years, he is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Joan Donovan and their three sons, William Dean Donovan, Darin Hewett Donovan, Dade Watson Donovan and their wives, Vanessa, Belinda, and Kathryn, and grandchildren Ava, Nicole, Maya, Halle, Dylan, and Ashalia. Bill was born in Dedham, Massachusetts. After high school and graduation from Newton Junior College he served two years in the army intelligence service before returning to complete his Masters in Business Administration at the University of Denver. Upon graduation, he continued West to spend the rest of his life in California where he worked in the wealth management industry for Dean Witter, Paine Weber and Merrill Lynch. He loved to swim, bike, hike, and study French. A Celebration of Bill's Life will be held May 5, 2013 at the Elks Club
in San Mateo. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Yosemite National Park, the Sierra Club, or Sutter Hospice.
