Kirk Bunnell Obituary

Kirk Bunnell
Feb. 5, 1941- Jan. 20, 2014
Of Bellingham, WA
Feb. 5, 1941- Jan. 20th, 2014. Kirk was born in Ogden, Utah grew up in Larchmont, New York and went on to Stanford University where he met the love of his life, Gini Wyant. After Graduating with a B.S. (1962) he served in the Peace Corp in Malaysia 1962-1964. He married Gini on Aug. 30th, 1964, and received his Ph.D. in Physics from Northwestern University (1969). Kirk worked as a Physicist for Stanford Linear Accelerator Center from 1969 through 1992 where he was recognized for his hard work and dedication. Kirk and Gini moved from Palo Alto, CA, to Bellingham, WA, in 2003. They quickly found the cooler climate was better for Kirk's health. Kirk loved spicy food, newspaper jumbles, singing in the choir, Bible study, laughter, watching football, taking naps, reading books, and any chance to enjoy life with his family. He inspired many people in Palo Alto and Bellingham through his contentment in adversity and by regularly working out at the YMCA even when his limbs did not work the way they were supposed to. He is survived by his brother John, his loving wife Gini (Wyant) Bunnell, sons Doug (Laurie) and Scott (Kris). He is deeply missed by his family and many friends.
