I cannot believe it's been 10 years since we lost Steve. I miss him so much. I miss his perpetual smile (especially the toothy grin he would shoot me all the time) his wonderful, friendly personality that never left, even during the "teen" years. I miss the great times at the Tank, going to see the Sharks with Evan. I am grateful to have known his family, especially Chris who set such a great example of how a father should coach his son. Coaching Steve was a wonderful privilage, being his friend was a blessing. I told him once that if I was ever had my own son, I would want him to be just like hjim. I meant that them and I mean it now. How I miss you buddy. I will never forget you.

When someone you love dies, you never get over it. You just slowly learn how to go on without them, but always keeping them tucked safely in your heart.
My thoughts are with the Hatton family.
I miss my buddy.

The last time Steve and I played miniature golf he finally tied me. He had gotten so much better and are matches were really getting competitive. It was one of the few things I could beat him at. I think of, and miss him more every time I drive past Golfland in Sunnyvale. It's the littel things that mean so much to us.

As the sad anniversary of Steve's passing comes and goes, I am reminded of how blessed those of us who knew him were. For me, my friend Steve was a constant source of joy. His smiling face and sweet personality brightened even the darkest of days. I miss the baseball teams, the Sharks games and movies with him and Evan.
I miss Steve terribly but find comfort that he is no longer suffering, and the promised hope that "God will wipe every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more. Neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore."
My heart goes out to those he was closest to, his immediate and extended family. May you find peace and comfort. Thank you for the privilege of his friendship.
Brenda, Chris, Rebecca and Laura: You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Steve,
I think of you every day and especially today, your 21st birthday, I wanted to tell you and your family how much we love you and miss you terribly. We recently had a small family reunion in Tahoe, and played a "pitch" card tournament since that is once of the things Grandma Busch loves best. I will always think of you when I'm playing cards....your analytical thinking of what to play, and how to beat your opponents what fun to witness! I'm reflecting today on what you might have done for your 21st birthday....would you have wanted to get a drink at a bar which most 21 year olds do, or would you have wanted to play video games with your friends, or have cake and ice cream with your family or maybe all three? I salute you today, Steve. Happy Birthday!

Dear Chris, Brenda, Curt, Valerie, and the rest of the Hatton clan. I was greatly saddened and surprised at the most untimely tragic news of Steve. He was involved in so many activities and seemed to enjoy life so much the times I met him that it is especially difficult to believe his shining face is no longer with us except in spirit. His passing reminds us how precious and fragile life can be. My heartfelt condolences to all who knew and loved him.
